Sharing a passion for winemaking, the Groenewald family, father and his sons, started the voyage of producing wines of exceptional quality together. The Eagle’s Cliff Cellar with its spectacular views over the vineyards and sunset over the picturesque mountains, lies in the heart of the Breede River Valley, between Worcester and Villiersdorp. The company is also a successful exporter of bulk wines to Europe including destinations such as Germany and Switzerland. A pair of rare black eagles which have made their nest in the cliffs overlooking the vineyards, served as inspiration for Eagle's Cliff's label design. Rich spicy chocolate plum nose which follows on the palate. Lively pepper and black cherry fruit flavours with well integrated oak. Combined in perfect proportions, the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir create a wine which is full of appealing flavour, yet remains balanced and refreshing. Upfront strawberry fruit on the nose that transforms into a rich coffee flavour. Full and soft palate with distinct coffee characters. A well-integrated wine with spicy toasted oak flavours. Distinctive and pleasant varietal berry and oakwood flavours. Beautiful rose petals on the nose, flinty with strawberries and fresh light tropical fruits. Crisp and fresh on the palate with delicate flavours that lingers on and on. Full bodied, with lots of citrus and vanilla flavours. Creamy and soft with red berries on the palate and just a slight hint of wood. A wine that will age well, but that is ready to be enjoyed now. A fuller style wine, with tropical, floral and citrus flavours. Full ripe grapes were harvested in cool morning conditions, that ensure good tropical and gooseberry flavours with a full palate. Round fruity wine, shows fresh berry fruit with a velvety aftertaste that lingers well on the palate, a good companion to any food and is made from 100% Shiraz grapes. This superb Pinotage consists of captivating strawberry flavours complimented by raspberry undertones and a hint of coffee. An attractive classical blend with berry fruit flavours and well-integrated soft oak matured flavours. This wine shows fresh floral and tropical fruit flavours that linger well on the palate. Rich tropical flavours characterise this elegant wine with its slightly grassy character. Ideal companion to fish, chicken dishes and salads.
