What you should know about Mcgregor Winery
There is a special place. at the end of a road that leads nowhere else McGregor Winery lies on the Southern end of the Robertson Wine Valley, nestled between the picturesque hills of the Riviersonderend mountains, just outside of the charming and special village after which it is named. The winery was established in 1948, and is owned by the 33 farmers who produce around 14 000 tons of wine grapes annually. The sun soaked soils result in flavourful grapes, which in turn make delicious wines. Our winemaking team proudly produces around 10 million liters of quality wines for both the local and international bulk and bottled markets. The relaxed pace of life and serenity of the village are reflected in the style of wines we produce. The Winery continually strives to deliver high standards of product and service excellence that meet the expectations of our customers, and that build our brand and it’s reputation. McGregor Winery's vision is to create innovative, exciting wines which inspire our producers, to be the first choice for our customers and the pride of our community. Through this we aim to establish a reputable and competitive brand. Professional, ethical and honest in our business agreements and relationships Be innovative, flexible and open to new thoughts Do more with less Build a positive and inspired workforce that is driven by common goals Go the extra mile for our customers Keep a long term perspective in all decision making. When McGregor was proclaimed in 1862, it was originally named Lady Grey in honour of Eliza, the wife of Cape Governor Sir George Grey. But in 1904 the congregation of the Dutch Reformed Church decided to call their new church after their much-loved pastor, the Rev. McGregor winery is proud to be WIETA, IPW and ARA certified and we support and promote ethical trade en environmental sustainability in the wine industry.
